Noesis Press, an imprint of The Davies Group, Publishers, publishes edited and peer-reviewed shorter monographs, works designed to fit within the space that lies
between the “too-long-for-a-journal article” and “too-short-for-a-traditional monograph” format. Professor Victor E. Taylor, Director of Academic Publishing for The Davies
Group, Publishers, with the assistance of an editorial board (TBA), will review proposed series and individual manuscripts for acceptance.
We will accept for submission closely-focused forms of the monograph that present a core argument. Submissions should express ideas as clearly as possible, avoiding
discipline specific terminology in order to connect the work with a more general audience or a broad academic audience consisting of members of other disciplines and
educated laypersons.
Noesis Press is committed to the establishment of a shorter form of scholarship that is every bit as intellectually viable and important to the dissemination of knowledge
as more traditional formats. You may wish to foreshadow a much longer work, expand a topic previously abbreviated to fit into the pages of a journal, or perhaps a long
chapter or part from a previously published book (for which you can secure the rights) that you feel could and perhaps should stand alone. All projects will be subjected
to rigorous peer review, with final works issued in both print and digital formats.
We welcome queries from individuals in the humanities and social sciences—especially philosophy and history—who are interested in one or more of the following:
performing peer review, forming or joining an editorial board, suggesting a series and/or serving as a series editor for these shorter works.
